German SPD Strengthen Links with NDC

In its efforts to meet with the challenges of the 21st Century amongst a number of complex challenges and great opportunities, the German Coalition Governing Party, the Social Democratic Party (SPD) continues to build alliances with Socialist Groups around the world to share and receive ideas which would strengthen its policies and programmes and help contribute to Peace, Security & Poverty Reduction Globally.

With Ghana’s NDC Party as one of its main allies on the African Continent, the links between the SPD and NDC continues to be strengthened by the day with the NDC now a permanent member on its International and African Committee, where issues on Africa are debated and mainstreamed into its Policy positions.

Following after the successful hosting of the African Forum in Euskirchen in October, the SPD have invited the NDC (National Democratic Congress) as one of the well-known African Political allies to its Annual National Conference to take place on 24 and 25 November 2006 in Frankfurt - Germany.

The 2 days Conference will focus on various issues which include but not limited to Security and Peace in the World; Global Politics on Democracy; Organization and Regional Cooperation and exchange of Programmes. The conference will be Chaired by Mrs. Heidemarie Wiezorek Zeul, the SPD Minister for Economic and Cooperation in the Grand ruling Governing Coalition.
