German to provide maternity home at Adaklu-Tsrepe

Adaklu (V/R), Aug. 22, GNA - Madam Ute Lasekemas, a German philanthropist, says she will provide a modern Maternity Home at Adaklu-Tsrepe in the Adaklu-Anyigbe district to help avert the high infant and maternal mortality rates in the community.

Madam Lasekemas, who had been crowned the Development Chief of Adaklu under the title 'Mama Gbekor I', stated this at a ceremony in her honour at Adaklu Abuadi.

Madam Lasekemas said the facility was among several other projects she was undertaking in the area. They include the application of appropriate technology to boost large-scale commercial activities in the community.

Mr David Kanyi, District Co-ordinating Director of the New Adaklu Anyigbe District, called on the community to provide the necessary support, including communal labour to facilitate the realisation of the project.

He urged the community to register for the National Health Insurance Scheme.

Togbega Gogbi Atsa V, Paramount chief of the traditional area, called for assistance towards the development of tourism potentials of the Adaklu Mountain and the Kalakpa Game Reserve.
