Ghana@62: Soldiers excite crowd to fire drills at Tamale

Officers of the Ghana Armed Forces have treated patrons of the 62nd Independence Day Anniversary Celebrations in Tamale to interesting military drills and training.

Some of the selected soldiers embarked on acrobatics display and fire drills to the admiration of President Akufo-Addo and scores of Ghanaians who attended the program.

Other soldiers also lapel from a suspending helicopter enacting a war theatre at the stadium as the crowd cheered.

The display came after the routine guard of honour and salute was taken by the President.

Special Guest of Honour for today’s event is President of Niger Mahamadou Issoufou.

This is the first time the national event will take place outside Accra, the national capital and making Tamale, the first regional capital aside Accra to host it to mark the country’s independence from British rule on March 6, 1957.

The theme for this year’s independence anniversary celebration is ” Celebrating Peace and Unity”.
