Ghana has currently no ambition to run its own new Civilian Passenger Aircrafts
according to the President.
The Ghana Government RECENTLY secured a loan of $85.5million dollars from Deutsche Bank S.A.E to purchase two of this turbo prop CASA C-294M which was seen test flying in Seville, Spain yesterday, Tuesday 4th October 2011.
Is it ready to be delivered ?
Some are wondering whether it is good vaue for money ?
Ghana Airforce has also acquired several planes lately, including, the Presidential Jet, a Falcon 900EX for the comfort of the President and his Ministers, four Chinese built Hongdu K-8 Karakoum jet fighters. which are based at the Airforce Station near Kotoka International Airport in Accra.
In the Meantime the State owned Civil Transport company Ghana Airways has collapsed and beyond salvation. The Ghana Airways plane ( SEE PICTURE), a once proud DC10 THAT WILL NEVER FLY AGAIN.
Are these aircrafts going to be maintained and looked after properly ? Hhmmnnnnn one wonders !
