Ghana Armed Forces receive computers

Accra, Sept. 20, GNA - Unique Trust Financial Services (UTFS) on Wednesday donated 25 desktop computers worth 75 million cedis to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

Captain Budu Kumson (rtd), General Manager (Operations) UTFS, who made the donation on behalf of the Company, expressed the need for Ghanaians to assist the GAF to enable it to operate efficiently and effectively in its security networks.

Captain Kumson said the donation formed part of the Company's social responsibility and determination to support and assist viable institutions including the GAF.

"The strategic role played by the Ghana Armed Forces in defending the national frontiers against both foreign and local aggressions demands that the Force is well resourced and equipped with modern technological gadgets to operate effectively.=94 Capt. Kumson said the task of coordinating and analyzing critical data especially on defence in the fast growing technological information and communication world had become cumbersome and required regular update of military armaments.

He charged the Military to adopt a pragmatic maintenance culture for computers and other security equipment.

Brigadier-General Bob Robert Winful, Chief of Staff of GAF, who received the equipment on behalf of the Armed Forces, commended UTFS for its prompt response to an appeal launched recently. "These computers have come at an opportune time when GAF are in the process of expanding their network in information."
