NY, Oct. 2 (GHP) -- Ghana has replaced France as the Security Council President for the month of October. Ambassador Leslie Kojo Christian, Ghana's Permanent Representative and the new Council President, will hold bilateral consultations with other Council members on the programme of work for the month.
During Monday's closed-door session, chaired by Christian, on the attacks on the African Union Mission in Sudan no agreement could be reached on a formal statement and it was decided to continue the discussions Tuesday.
"The recent attack... was condemned," Christian said. "There was a demand that no effort should be spared so the perpetrators are brought to justice."
