The Africa Regional Director for Reach for Change, Amma Sefa-Dedeh Lartey, has said government’s Ghana beyond aid agenda can be achieved through the development of social enterprises which will focus on driving social and environmental objectives.
She said working with people living with disabilities and solving sanitation problems will help a social enterprise group to look at impact investors for financial returns.
Ghana beyond aid according to her will not necessarily move the country from a middle-income country to a first world country but when Ghanaians take up the needed action, it will take the country further towards its achieving its developmental goals.
“Highlighting on social enterprises will inspire a young person to set up a social enterprise that may totally transform a district, its economy and provide jobs,” she noted.
Miss Lartey further stated that Social enterprise is important to the various political parties and that by far, the group championing the course has received massive support from all the parties involved.
Social Enterprise group invests in social enterprises across Ghana who have financially sustainable business models and high social impact.
