Ghana Can Do Better Says NPP Vice Chairman

Mr Alhassan Yakubu Tali, National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party in Germany has observed that Ghana with its vast human and natural resources has the potential of becoming a middle level income country if the right leaders are elected in 2012.

According to him leadership is not about making vain and empty promises but having the right policies, programmes and above all the right calibre of people in leadership positions who have the necessary skills and experience to carry out those policies and programmes.

Mr Alhasan Tali made these comment at a hotel in Duseldorf where friends and sympathisers gathered to wish him well after he filled his nomination to contest the NPP primaries for the Tolon Constituency in the Northern Region.
Mr Alhassan Tali pointed out that since 1992 the people of Tolon have voted and sent an NDC member to parliament but the constituency remains one of the most underdeveloped in the country in terms of basic amenities and infrastructure and said the people have lost confidence in the NDC as a party .
He explained that the people of Tolon and for that matter all Ghanaians have lost confidence in the ability of the Mills-Mahama administration to deliver on any of the numerous campaign promises adding ’Governance is about delivering and showing concrete and tangible results that can make a positive impact on the lives of the people’.
The 46 year old investment baker noted that Ghana cannot afford to get it wrong in 2012 because NDC government has demonstrated that it is not competent to handle the affairs of the country and must be shown the exit. The nationwide industrial action by teachers and the subsequent use of excessive and brute force by the police to suppress the legitimate expression of their frustration is an indication of a failed g and desperate government incapable of meeting the challenges of governance he told the gathering.
He emphasized that Ghana can do much better because this has been proved under the eight-year rule of the NPP government under President Kuffour and will prove it again when the NPP is voted into power under Nana Akuffo Addo.
Mr Alhassan Tali thanked Chiekh Hamed Tijani Diouf, Manager,Newedge Bank, Frankfurt, Dr Petra Meisner, Nana Ato Arthur former Central Regional Minister and DR[Pastor] Clotey ( His Campaign Manager in Germany) for their support and encouragement sayng’I am humbled by the task before me and grateful for the opportunity to be able to serve my people if elected.
