Nana Ofori Owusu, PPP aspiring National Chairman Nana Ofori Owusu, PPP aspiring National Chairman

Aspiring National Chairman of the Progressive People's Party (PPP) Nana Ofori Owusu has expressed resentments over the country's National Identity Card registration

One of the aspiring members of the National Chairmanship position of the Progressive Peoples Party, Nana Ofori Owusu has expressed his disagreement with the government over the initiation of the Ghana Card.

The card which is expected to be used in the country as the only card where identification is required began being distributed in Accra today and is expected to continue for the next three months before going on to other regions.

According to Mr. Owusu, he sees no reason why the exercise needed to be started all over again when there has been work on it before.

He said, "There’s discontinuity. We begin everything all over all the time . . . Then the money that has been spent in the past, who accounts for it? Where is the money? How did they use it and what did they use it for? We can’t live as a nation like this without continuity . . . We care about Ghana”, he told host Kwami Sefa Kayi.

He lashed out at the NIA for not improving on the previous identification card and rather chose to begin the whole process again.

He further added that some people should be prosecuted over the idea behind the exercise saying, “we continue to waste taxpayers’ money on projects".
