Ghana Gas launches quiz competition for tertiary institutions and stakeholders

Ghana Gas on Tuesday, May 21 launched an educational quiz competition as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives at the Gas Processing Plant in Atuabo.

This initiative is in line with the company’s desire to help the country attain its Sustainable Development Goals with Goal 4 as key.

Dr. Ben Asante, CEO of Ghana Gas who launched the competition took the opportunity to talk about his desire to impact knowledge through this quiz competition. He also spoke about how key it is for the general public to take interest in the gas value chain and its opportunities.

Speaking about the quiz, Madam Augustina Osei, Senior Manager for Government Relations demonstrated the various segments of the quiz competition with the stakeholder’s edition leading which has the Civil Society Organizations, Media and Industry regulators.

She also spoke of the tertiary edition which would have students from pursing petroleum related courses. Key amongst others is University of Mines and Technology, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, All Nations University College, Ghana Technology University College etc.

As part of the launch, Dr. Steve Manteaw, Chairman of PIAC commended Ghana Gas for such initiative and revealed that it has a good initiative which will serve the general public well.

Dr. Affail Monney, the President of Ghana Journalist Association added his voice by promising the media’s support in promoting the activities of the company which is a national strategic asset. Other participants revealed their excitement with regard to their exposure to the operations of the company which was done through a presentation by Ing. Robert Lartey, General Manger, Operations.

The event was graced by the District Chief Executive for Ellembelle, Hon. Kwesi Bonso as well as Mr. Emmanuel Essel, General Manager, Finance, Mr. Benjamin Baidoo, General Manager, Procurement, Ms. Alma-Leigh Mensah, General Manager, Human Resource/Administration, Mr. Robert Asmah, General Manager, Technical Services as well as a cross section of staff.
