A twenty-member delegation from The Network for Patriotism and Progress (NPP Montreal-Canada) on Saturday April 27 paid a courtesy call on the new Ghana High Commissioner in Canada, His Excellency S.A. Odoi Sykes at his official residence at 456 Bona Vista, Rockcliffe Park, Ottawa, Ontario.
In a brief speech, Network Chairman, Hans Peter Duah said the visit was to welcome the new High Commissioner to Canada and to offer the Network’s cooperation to the High Commissioner in his job to attract and develop political and economic partnerships between Canada and Ghana.
Network Secretary Michael Baffoe briefed the High Commissioner on the work of the Network. It consists of investment-minded Africans especially Ghanaian-Canadians who are interested in making investments in Ghana. The Network which floats shares to its members, hopes to generate about a hundred Thousand Dollars over the next two years for investment in Ghana. He expressed the hope that the High Commissioner will be of immense assistance in identifying potential and profitable sectors of the Ghanaian economy where the Network can invest.
The High Commissioner and his wife Edith warmly welcomed the Group and offered his total and unflinching support for the work of Network.
Membership is open to all Ghanaian-Canadians and friends of Ghana who share the political and economic ideology of the Network for Patriotism and Progress.
