Ghana Hotel Association honours Dr. Nduom

The Ghana Hotel Association (GHA) has conferred a lifetime award on Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, patron of Coconut Grove Regency, at the 3rd Ghana Hotel Awards held at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra over the weekends.

The GHA lifetime award is honoured to people who have contributed immensely to the development of the hotel industry in Ghana.

Coconut Grove Regency which is a three star hotel annexed two other accolades on the night namely; House Keeping, Conference and Banqueting hotel of the year.

Picking the award on behalf of his father who was on another significant assignment in Canada, Kwame Nduom expressed his gratitude to GHA for recognizing their hard work.

He said the awards has encouraged them to continue treating their customers to good hospitality services.

According to oral tradition and recorded history, hotels existed in Ghana during the British colonial period called the Gold Coast even in the 1903's. The Sea View Hotel is believed to be the oldest in the industry but does not operate anymore.

Saddick Ali of Tang Palace won the Hotelia of the year whiles Nana Opoku Ware was awarded as a member of Founding Father's Association.

Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Best Western Premier, Golden Tulip, Alisa, African Regent, Accra City, Raybow and others were all winners on the night.
