Ghana Housing Week In London

A two-day housing exhibition takes place in London at Ghana?s High Commission premises located at 104 Highgate Hill N6 5HE from 6-7 November 2004.

The theme of the two-day exhibition, being organised by the Ghana Real Estates Developers Association [GREDA] in collaboration with the Ghana High Commission, London, is ?Bringing modern and affordable houses to the doorstep of the people?

The exhibition will provide opportunity for Ghanaians living in the U.K to discuss purchase of houses and housing projects in Ghana with experienced and well-organised developers.

It will be opened by H.E Mr Issac Osei, Ghana?s High Commissioner to the UK. Dignitaries expected to attend include Hon. Charles Brempong Yeboah (MP) Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Special Guest, Mr. Kwabena Baah-Duodu, Deputy High Commissioner to the UK, Hon B. D. K. Adu President of GREDA, Mr. William Opare, Executive Director of GREDA and other leading personalities in the housing sector in Ghana and the UK.

As part of the exhibition, a seminar will be organised for the visiting real estate developers on how to access lower interest credit finance from the U.K and European markets for their real estate development projects in Ghana by Trade Credits Ltd, a UK-based Ghanaian credit finance company, which has provided credit finance facilities for clients in China, Egypt, Gambia, Germany, the U.K, South Africa, Singapore, Netherlands, India, Ghana, Nigeria, Malaysia and a host of other countries.

There will also be a presentation on issues relating to land registration in Ghana.

A special raffle will be drawn on the last day of the exhibition, during which lucky visitors to the exhibition could win a number of prizes, made up of building materials. The prizes include cement bags, poly tanks, sintex tanks, louvre blades, roofing sheets, door locks, and other assorted materials donated by the kind courtesy of suppliers of building products in Ghana.

A house raffle will also be launched with the winner taking home a two-bedroom house at Teshie-Nungua Estates donated by GREDA. Tickets for this special raffle will be on sale at various locations in and outside the London Metropolis from November 5th 2004 to 20th March 2005, with the draw taking place at the High Commission, 13th Belgrave square, London, SW1X 8PN on 31st march 2005

Developers and service providers from Ghana and the UK expected to attend the Housing Exhibition include Medium Dwelling Co. Ltd, Osamanpa Estate Developers Ltd, Addakhus Construction Company Ltd, MNA Engineering Ltd, Globens Company Ltd, 3P Estate Developers Ltd, Salem Investments Ltd, Huges Estates Ltd, Metaprod Aluminium Ltd, St. Patricks Ltd., West Coast Construction Company Ltd, Coastal Estates Ltd, Hydraform Estates International, Comet Properties Ltd, and State Housing Company Ltd.

The rest are Gentse Enterprises Ltd, Assandoff Construction Company Ltd, Geowags Company Ltd, Regalon International, Ben Dwimoh & Company Ltd, Interplast Ltd, Western Union Money Transfer and a host of other seasoned real estate developers.

The exhibition will be preceded by the launch of the Ghana Real Estate magazine International at the Chancery, 13 Belgrave Square, London, SW1X 8PN, on Thursday, November 4th, 2004 between 6.30 pm to 8.30pm.

All Ghanaians and friends of Ghana and other business people operating in Ghana are invited. Admission to all the above-named functions is free.
