Serbian giants Red Star have named Rashid Sumaila for winter training despite the Ghana defender seeking to return to his Kuwaiti club Al Qadisiya.

The centre-back, who is desperate to leave the club, is part of the 34-man squad named on Friday to prepare for the spring part of the season in which they are seeking to land the double.

Sumaila was named in the squad along with his compatriot Richmond Boakye-Yiadom to start training at the auxiliary pitch of the Rajko Miti? stadium.

Coach Vladan Milojevic named the Ghanaian defender who is already seeking to return to his Kuwaiti club where he is guaranteed regular playing time.

Sumaila is desperate to play regular football and he is keen on terminating his loan contract with the Serbian club with six months left on the deal.

Red Star will start training in Belgrade on Friday until Sunday when they travel to the Slovenian base of Terme Catez.

Then from January 26 to February 9 they will be in Turkish city Antalya to continue with their preparations.

They will play friendly matches against the Austrian Wacker (January 27), Austria LINZ (January 30), Ludogorets (February 2nd), Rabotnicki (5 February) and Maribor (February 8).
