Former CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Sylvester Mensah has expressed his sympathy over the demise of ´Ekosii Sen´ show host Joseph Kwadwo Asare-Baffour Acheampong (KABA).

In a message to the bereaved family and colleagues, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential hopeful stated that KABA made ´Ekosii Sen´ his own and a must-listen-to programme on Asempa FM.

“Over the past five years, KABA made a political talk on radio in the afternoon his own, a time zone otherwise reserved for music. KABA made his programme on Asempa FM a must-listen-to,” he said.

The late KABA, according to Mr. Mensah was very professional and has contributed immensely to the political discourse in Ghana through his radio show.

KABA was pronounced dead on arrival at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where he was rushed after he fell sick Saturday morning.

He was 37 years.

He left behind a wife, Valentina Ofori Agyei, also a broadcaster with Accra-based Class FM and a seven-month-old daughter, Nana Yaa.

Below is the full statement

It was in the early hours of Saturday when I got the news of the demise of KABA.

Over the past five years, KABA made political talk on radio in the afternoon his own, a time zone otherwise reserved for music.

KABA made his programme on Asempa FM a must-listen-to. I found KABA to be different, when it comes to verifying the authenticity of leads that he had.

His professionalism was outstanding and his contribution to political discourse in Ghana was remarkable.

He will be missed dearly!

My family and I wish to express our deepest condolences to his wife and daughter, his extended family and the entire Multimedia Group for the loss of this gem.

In these deeply emotional moments we pray for strength, God's Grace and Favour.
