Ghana’s firm and growing democracy continues to gain world recognition and admiration as the UN has just named the country as the most “dependable partner in global affairs”.

UN secretary general, Antanio Manuel de Oliveira Guterres, confirmed that Ghana’s high credential in democracy places the country as one of the most peaceful in the world.

“Ghana will always play an important role in the ECOWAS. Preventive actions in the region are very important, and we are counting on your support,” UN Secretary General revealed during a courtesy call on him by foreign affairs minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway.

The confessions by the UN boss follows Ghana’s peaceful election and peaceful transition of power to the incumbent president, Nana Akufo-Addo, during what many described as a “knife-edged” elections in 2016.
