Ghana ranked 7th in Governance Index

Ghana is ranked 7th out of 53 African Countries in the latest MO Ibrahim assessment of governance on the continent.

This is an improvement on the 2009 rankings where Ghana was 8th.

The country also ranked second out of 16 countries in West Africa in the 2010 assessment.

The rankings are based on safety and rule of law, Participation and Human Rights, sustainable economic opportunity and human development.

These were revealed at the launch of the 2010 Ibrahim Index of African Governance in Accra.
