Ghana's Chief Imam leaves for Denmark

Accra, June 14, GNA - The National Chief Imam, Dr Sheik Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, has left Accra for

Denmark on an official visit. The visit was to help improve dialogue among European and African Muslims as well as to improve

dialogue between Muslims and Christians. The visit was upon the visitation of the National Council of Churches in Denmark (NACCD). Together with the NACCD, several other Christians and Muslims organisation would be involved in

the programme. In a brief interview with the Ghana News Agency before his departure, the Chief Imam said he would

during his visit endeavor to promote harmony, peace and goodwill between the two countries. From Denmark, the Chief Imam would continue to Florida, United States of America, where he would

meet with the state authorities to seek their assistance for the development of Education in Ghana. The support is geared towards growing Sheik Osmanu Nuhu Sharabutu's Educational Trust Fund

(ETF) in Ghana. The Chief Imam said the objective was to get funding for the education of Muslims student who are

in need. At the Kotoka International Airport to see him off were senior clerics of the Moslem community
