We The People Matter Movement (WTPMM), a pressure and advocacy group has expressed its disgust at both the leadership of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP)and the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) over Ghana's debt stock.

According to the group, the blame- game between the New Patriotic Party and the main opposition National Democratic Congress has shifted again to the national debt thereby confusing the ordinary man on the street.

This was a statement hosted by the convener of the group Dr. Sa-ad Iddrisu on the Facebook page of the group in Accra.

The statement reminded the leadership of both political parties to bury their heads in shame.

'They have both misused our taxes and revenues from natural resources on salaries and emoluments for appointees since 1992.

Salaries and emoluments for government appointees and Members of Parliament take a chunk of government revenue, with no money left for the development of the country.

Their actions over the years have led to aggressive borrowing on the part of both parties when in government, to meet vague campaign promises the statement added.

''We the people must begin to question our politicians on where they are leading Ghana to with governance being reduced to nothing more except borrowing.

NDC is borrowing, NPP is borrowing and election in Ghana is becoming a waste of voters time, for there is nothing new to see from the government if not borrowing.

All they both do is borrow and get their “cuts” and no one gives a damn about the consequences on present and future generations.
