Second Lady Samira Bawumia says the country’s economy is growing at a faster pace under the current NPP administration describing it as the successful in the history of the Fourth Republic.

“We have more than doubled our economic growth while reducing the rapid rate of borrowing and accumulation of public debt,” she said while addressing party members at the Ashanti Regional Youth Conference of the NPP and the inauguration of its working committee in Kumasi on Saturday, 30 March 2019.

Following this she’s urged the youth of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to strive and work hard for the NPP to stay long in power.

Meanwhile she reiterated government’s claim of delivering on its promises in two years, including the Free SHS programme, restoration of allowances for trainees in teaching, nursing and midwifery, among others.

“When we talk about development, no country has developed without a literate population so this is a measure so that in the short, medium and long term, government can live up to its potential. We have employed 100,000 through the NABCO programme.

“We have restored Nursing and Teacher Training allowance. We are issuing national ID cards which by the way in eight years, the NDC could not issue. We have delivered a national digital address system. We have established three development authorities; Northern, Middle and Coastal. We have reduced electricity tariffs. We have expanded the LEAP programme.
