Senior Presidential Advisor Yaw Osafo-Maafo has lamented the steady decline of the country's educational system in recent times.
Osafo-Maafo expressed his frustration over why the high standard of education and educated individuals that the nation boasts of, have not translated into solving the country's problems.
Pointing out issues such as poor sanitation, recent flooding and its severe consequences, Osafo Marfo believes that revising the educational system is the only way to overcome these problems.
“We have a change, but that change must be manifested into solving the problems facing this country, as we go along. So, we should begin to think through education as a problem-solver for the nation," he said as quoted by citinewsroom.com
Yaw Osafo-Maafo appealed to the education minister Dr Yaw Osei-Adutwum to implement policies that will aim directly at resolving most of these problems.
“This is my simple message to the minister of education [Dr Yaw Osei-Adutwum], and the whole educational system. We have a myriad of problems facing us in our education system.
“Our education system and the content should aim directly at resolving these problems, simple problems like sanitation, flooding,” he opined.
