Accra, Feb.2, GNA -Dr. Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, Metropolitan Chief Executive of Accra, on Tuesday said the 'New Accra for a Better Ghana' project would create enough room for social and economic activities to thrive.
"There would be room for all: business, health Education, religious activities, human development among others" he said when Reverend Dr. Richard Roberts, son of the founder of the Oral Roberts Ministries and 30 other international pastors paid a courtesy call on him to begin a two-day crusade in Accra.
The crusade dubbed: "Ghana for Christ," scheduled for February 2 at the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre in Accra is led by Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, an Ghanaian international Evangelist.
The crusade is being organized by the Worldwide Miracle Outreach and the Oral Roberts Ministries, in collaboration with the churches of Ghana. The Mayor noted that the crusade was timely as the Assembly needed the divine direction now to make Accra a city befitting its status adding, no city could prosper without the divine intervention.
The city, he said, had put the past behind it to chart a new cause noting" it is my hope that the good Lord would pour it abundant blessing on the city and the nation till there was no room to receive it". He extolled the virtues of Oral Roberts and said he touched and transformed lives and paid his dues to humanity until his home call on December 15 last year.
Rev. Dr Richard Roberts said he was overwhelmed by the reception given him and his team and noted that he was glad to be back in Ghana after several visits in the past.
He noted that putting the past behind and trusting God for the future was the sure way to go and noted he had come to preach and confirm God's word for Ghana after receiving the double portion of his father's anointing when he passed on holding his hands. Apostle Dr. Olangi Wosho of the Combat Spiritual Church in the Congo (Brazzaville) and founder of the Olangi Wosho Foundation said his prayer was that Ghana who led Africa's independence would become the source of spiritual direction for Africa.\
Africa, he said, had failed because it relegated to the background the role Christianity played in nation building, saying the crusade would provide religious transformation for individuals and the nation at large. He said:" Accra had opened it door and that salvation had entered". Other evangelists on the delegation prayed and blessed Ghana for a serene atmosphere for socio-economic development. 2 Feb.10
