Ghana is scheduled to host the 32nd Ordinary meeting of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Chiefs of Defence Staff from June 26 to June 27
A statement signed by the Public Relations Director for the ECOWAS Commission Lieutenant Commander, M. A Larbi, and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Saturday, said all ECOWAS states would be represented by their Chiefs of Defence (CDS) Staff.
It said officials from the ECOWAS Secretariat, as well as two Force Commanders of the ongoing Peace keeping Missions in West Africa, would also attend.
The theme for the meeting would be: “Enhancing ECOWAS Military Cooperation for Peace, Stability and Development.”
The statement said the three days Committee meeting, which would take place at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Centre (KAIPTC), would be opened on Wednesday July 26 at 1500 hours and closed on Friday July 27 at 1530 hours.
It noted that, on July 26, the CDS would attend the VIP/Media Day of the ongoing Regional Exercise at the KAIPTC, (Ex Western Accord).
They will also pay a courtesy call on President John Dramani Mahama at the Flagstaff House on Thursday, June 27 June.
