Ghana to participate in world Trade fair.

Accra, April 13, GNA-- Ghana is to participate in the World Trade fair dubbed Expo 2000 in Hanover, Germany from June one to October 30.

A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mr Kofi Sekyiamah, a Director of the Information Service Department said the theme for the Fair is " Humankind, Nature and Technology".

To enhance Ghana's participation, a 20-member national planning committee has been set up under the chairmanship of the Minister of Trade and Industry, Dan Abodakpi.

The statement said, the committee, which has been working since May 1997 is making the necessary arrangement for the country's participation, which will climax Ghana's day at the fair on July 14.

Ghana's participation is under the theme "Traditional knowledge of the Environment - A tool for Accelerated Development". The fair will attract 20 million guests and 168 countries of which 47 are coming from Africa, the statement said.

The national days to be celebrated at the fair will give every country the opportunity to present events such as parades, drama, folk dancing and traditional dress shows of their countries.
