GhanaMade donates to ‘Save Them Young’ Orphanage

AS part of its corporate social responsibilities and in celebration of the just ended yuletide, GhanaMade Company Limited, a leading private company whose objective is to help propel and sustain Ghana’s economic development through the promotion and marketing of made-in-Ghana products, has made valuable donation to ‘Save Them Young’ orphanage.

Presenting various food items, provisions and detergents to the orphans and vulnerable children from the orphanage, located at Bethlehem in Ashaiman, Mrs. Comfort Aniagyei, Managing Director (MD) of GhanaMade expressed her company’s commitment towards the welfare of the inmates of the orphanage. According to her, the children have become orphans and vulnerable through no fault of theirs.

“We at GhanaMade embrace the concept of supporting orphans, especially towards those located around where we operate. It is a commitment we have held over a period of time and have no intention of bringing to an end”, Mrs. Aniagyei remarked.

“The child holds a very special place in the heart of the nation and we hope this donation of high quality made-in-Ghana products would among other things serve as inspiration to the beneficiaries to seek self-dependence when they grow to become adults.”

The GhanaMade MD explained that her company has been playing its part to help break the cycle of poverty through the promotion and marketing of made-in-Ghana products in all of its outlets dotted around the Greater Accra and Eastern regions.

GhanaMade, she stated, has never ceased to educate Ghanaians on the need to patronise made-in-Ghana products. She opined that the education will help Ghanaians, especially children, to grow and strive to develop themselves and the country to its full potential.

Underscoring the importance of continued inculcation of the habit of patronizing locally manufactured goods by Ghanaians, Mrs. Aniagyei commented that it will go a long way to enhance Ghana’s potential of seeing its economy grow. She stated that for each locally-produced item that is purchased, the potential for job-creation and the overall economic development of the nation is attained.

Taking advantage of the occasion, she encouraged all Ghanaians to patronise GhanaMade brands of rice, such as Oman Ba fragrant rice, Odeneho Brown Rice and other high quality made-in-Ghana products sold in all GhanaMade stores. A supervisor of the orphanage, Madam Doreen Koffie and her deputy, Alfred Nyarkun, who received the donation, thanked Mrs. Aniagyei for her kind gesture.

They promised to put the donated items to good use. They appealed to members of the general public to come to the aid of the orphanage by supporting them with teaching and learning materials.

According to them, the orphanage is in need of financial support to complete a dormitory which is currently under construction. Items donated to ‘Save Them Young’ by GhanaMade included bags of rice, detergents, plastic bowls and chairs, fruit juices and other food items, all made in Ghana.
