Ghanaian Abroad Condemn Nana Akufo-Addo- a rejoinder

Following The Informer report on the above subject on February 20, 2012, the NPP UK Dundee Chapter carried out an investigation into the allegations.

We can therefore state without any qualms that the alleged Ghanaian Students Union of which Onassis Kobby claims to be the PRO does not exist in the University of Dundee. What really exists is a group of NDC Government sponsored activists who have been given government scholarships to study Petroleum and Gas courses in the above-stated university.

Besides these students who are being sponsored with the public tax payers’ money, there are self sponsored Ghanaian students too here who do not share the views of these NDC activists. Most of these students we spoke to are really livid with the conduct of Onassis Kobby who is now on the run. Reliable information received by NPP Dundee shows that Onassis lives a very ostentatious lifestyle in Dundee because of the state sponsorship. He has an apartment in Hilltown, close to University of Dundee but he chooses to live in Broughty Ferry, a very expensive place outside Dundee. This is even evidenced on his facebook page. Onassis Kobby’s arrogant and ostentatious lifestyle is a microcosm of the kind of lifestyle of the NDC sponsored students living on Ghana government public purse abroad.

To some of the students, they expect these NDC Government sponsored students including Onassis to be grateful to former President Kufuor and the NPP for working assiduously to discover the oil which has given them the opportunity to be sponsored on the course they are on now. Instead they have chosen to dance to the tune of their inexperienced and visionless leaders who by their actions define politics as nothing but mere propaganda. Empty barrels indeed make the most noise. At least a government that did put Ghana’s economy on the pedestal of prosperity and hope deserves better.

It is a fact that the NDC government is insensitive to the plight of Ghanaians. When it comes to deliberations on important issues such economic, education, health care and agriculture, all their inexperienced communication team as well as their team B Ministers do is attack the person of Nana Akufo-Addo. When Nana Akufo-Addo dared to challenge President Mills on his public record, we expected the NDC government to talk about issues such as effective and efficient management, leadership qualities, corruption, achievement, etc, but they rather showed the whole world what they are best at, cheap and needless propaganda. The reason, we all know, is that the NDC record is poor and their performance weak. If this is the way the NDC want to go, then we dare Onassis Kobby if only he wants to be taken seriously to once again have a group discussion with the same group of students he allegedly watched that fabricated video with. A good topic to discuss this time could be “Mr. Righteous Atta Mills, the President of Ghana cheated on his wife and as a result has a son”. This will put the group members in the best position to tell which of the two leaders needs to render an unqualified apology to Ghanaian women and who needs to be counselled by religious bodies.

Enough is enough and come December 7, 2012 the voice of the Ghanaian majority crying for the NPP to come back to power will surely be heard loud and clear and the NDC will be shown the exit.
