Ghanaian-Canadian Nurses Association Of Ontario Donates Again!

On September 15, 2011, the Toronto based Ghanaian-Canadian Nurses Association of Ontario (GCNAO), donated some needed items to the Adullam Orphanage at Obuasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. This is the Association’s fourth donation to Ghanaian institutions in the past few years; the first three having been donated to three separate hospitals.

Presenting the items on behalf of GCNAO, Mr. Obed Komla Adore emphasized that since the association’s objectives include the improvement of the general health of Ghanaians, the association found it necessary to assist the most vulnerable and marginalized members of the Ghanaian Community – orphaned children.

Items worth about three thousand Ghanaian Cedis (GHC3,000) were donated. The donation included bags of rice and corn, cooking oil, bathing and washing soap, toilet rolls and cans of tomato paste. GCNAO hopes that these donated items will help to improve and support the children’s basic nutritional and growth and developmental needs. Mr. Peter Uka Beidu the manager of Adullam Orphanage expressed his appreciation and requested that the relationship between his orphanage and GCNAO be maintained and not to be a one-time affair. He later awarded a certificate of appreciation on behalf of his institution to GCNAO.
