Ghanaian Heroin Ring Busted In USA

20 Objects Recovered Containing Heroin,
$110,000 In Cash

BALTIMORE -- U.S. Attorney Thomas DiBiagio announced Tuesday the indictment of seven people charging them with participating in a conspiracy to distribute heroin.

Six of the people are citizens of Ghana and they all live in Maryland and New York.

Two men, Jamar Holt of Baltimore and Edwin Ncube of Laurel, were arrested on Dec. 3 after prosecutors said Ncube gave Holt one kilo of heroin. Holt had 20 egg-shaped objects that contained heroin. Ncube had about $110,000 in cash.
When Ncube's apartment in Laurel was searched agents found about 15 kilograms of heroin. Agents found about $150,000 during a search of a place in New York associated with one of the men charged.
Each of the seven people faces a maximum of a life sentence and a fine of up to $4 million.
