Ghanaian doctor murdered in UK

...died from multiple stab wounds
London - A top childrens’ doctor, murdered as she left for work died of multiple stab wounds, it was announced on Wednesday.

A post mortem examination showed paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 53, was repeatedly knifed as she got into her car outside her home in Dartford at around 8.20am on Tuesday.

A team of 20 officers have been combing the area surrounding Dr Anyetei's home in a bid to find the murder weapon.

The Ghanaian doctor, had worked as a locum consultant paediatrician at St Thomas's Hospital in London for the past eight months.

Dr Frances Flinter, director of children’s services at the hospital, said she was well liked and respected.

She added: "We are extremely sad to learn of Dr Victoria Abyetei's tragic death and our condolences go out to all her family and friends.

"Victoria had a lovely warm manner with the children she cared for and they in turn always responded very well to her. They liked having her as their doctor.

"She was also the sort of doctor that parents instinctively have faith in and she will be very sadly missed by her patients, their parents and her colleagues."
