Ghanaian travellers to UK can carry along fish.....

Accra, Sept 11, GNA - United Kingdom's Customs and Excise Department on Thursday said Ghanaians travelling to that country could now bring fish and fishery products as well as fruit and vegetables that are free from disease.
Fish and fishery products should be up to one kilogram whilst fruit and vegetables should be up to two kilograms.
This was contained in a statement issued in Accra by the Public Relations Unit of the Ministry of Trade.
The statement said the permission was part of UK's new control over food and meat imports into the country to address the risk associated with the importation of meat or other foodstuffs into that country.
"As a proof of its seriousness in enforcing this new measure, the British government is investing 25 million pounds over the next three years to tackle illegal third country imports", the statement said.
Any of the above products brought to the country outside the afore-mentioned limits shall be confiscated according to the statement.
