Ghanaians Supporting Ivorian Insurgency - Baako

Ammunition Import Controversy Fuelled By Propagandists

The Managing Editor of the Crusading Guide Newspaper, Kwaku Baako Jnr. says he has evidence that some registered members of some political parties are supporting the rebel insurgency in neighboring Ivory Coast.

Mr. Baako also disclosed that the media prominence given the issue of the ammunition imported into the country by the government and the various answers demanded from government are fuelled by propagandists.

Speaking on JOY FM’s News File programme, Mr. Baako alleged that the propagandists have an ulterior motive, which is not in the national interest.

According to him, those pointing accusing fingers can best be described as hypocrites.

“The time that story came out, the ammunitions were no longer in that house. They were there because they were not meant to be there. But for some reasons it passed through based on operational directives, enroute, it's in transit" he said

"These are journalist who were capable of double-checking and they would have known but they don’t care because that’s not the aim." he added

"They had a different motive, so it was no longer that some arms were missing and later they say it could fall into the arms of armed robbers, and we were social people, public peace, come off it, the guys were doing politics”, he said.

Mr. Baako Jnr. says he can substantiate his allegation that some registered members of some political parties are bent on subverting the constitution. He claimed that the party members are supporting the rebel insurgency in neighboring Ivory Coast.

“Those who are unduly worried about this matter know why they are. They know why they are. Look I would say it here today that there are some people in this country who are not comfortable with the deepening of democratic culture who are planning to disrupt this democracy, I am say so, there is evidence, some of them belong to registered political parties, I am not talking of parties, some of them have even linked up with some Ivorian rebels and are encouraging the rebels not to give up the battle, to continue the agitation there, the tension there because it suits the plans they for Ghana” he added.
