Ghanaians asked to return NDC to power

Essiama (W/R), July 9, GNA - Mr Solomon Nkansah, the Western Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged Ghanaians to return the party to power to continue with its good developmental works.

He explained that the era of the NDC administration saw a number of developmental projects in the country.

Mr Nkansah was addressing a youth wing of the party made up of students of the Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN) of the party at Essiama in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region on Wednesday.

Dwelling on some of the developments to districts at Nzema for instance, Mr Nkansah said the NDC extended the National Electrification grid to the three Nzema areas and constructed three senior secondary schools in addition to the three constructed by Dr Kwame Nkrumah. He said also constructed was the Axim-Mpataba-Ellubo road and the Mpataba-Half Assini road that solved one of the major headaches of the people in the area.

Mr Nkansah blamed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for neglecting the Nzema area though it is the home of the first President Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

The President of the University of Cape Coast branch of TEIN, Mr Mohammed Younus, stressed the need for change in the political environment of the country.

He said the NPP claimed the economy was on a sound footing but Ghanaians could not make ends meet with the daily increases in food prices.

He urged government to adopt cost-sharing in tertiary education instead of a full cost recovery currently being practiced. 9 July 08
