Ghanaians clamouring for change – Akufo-Addo

Nana Akufo-Addo Nana Akufo-Addo

The Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said there’s a general clamour for change by Ghanaians across the country come the December 7 general elections, as they are fed up with the abysmal performance by the Mahama-led administration.

According to him, even people in the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) stronghold of the Volta Region, are determined to effect a regime change as they are disappointing at the government.

The three- time Presidential Candidate and former Attorney General was addressing a rally of NPP supporters at Abeka in the Okaikoi North constituency in the Greater Accra Region on Saturday.

He said the NDC seeing the imminent end of President John Mahama’s rule as defeat stares at the party, with a little over a month to the crucial elections will soon resort to personal attacks at him, lies and propaganda in order to clinch onto power but that will fail.

“Those going around claiming they have a ‘World Bank’ somewhere must sit up, lest the supposed ‘world bank’ turns into something else. Everywhere you go everybody is looking for change in Ghana now. Not even propaganda and lies can change this clamour for change. One thing that is certain is that John Mahama is unable to properly govern the country.

I know as it is now, when he’s enjoying the presidency and enriching himself and his family, they are going to say a lot of things, especially attacking me with insults, but let me assure you, I’m not bothered by what they will say about me…don’t be afraid, I’ve not stolen anything or done anything wrong so don’t be worried at all.

I know the work that God wants me to do in Ghana, and that work is to make the country develop and become a better place to live.”
