Minister of Communication, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah has said it is imperative for Ghanaians to meet their President and therefore, criticisms against the President’s ‘Accounting to the People tour’ are unjustified.
President John Mahama has been widely criticized for embarking on this nationwide tour dubbed ‘Accounting to the People.’
Some have accused him of abusing his incumbency by using state resources to embark on this tour, while others have said the tour is a cover up because the President is campaigning for the November polls.
In an interview on Radio Gold, the Communications Minister said it was an eye opener for the President when the Chief of Chinderi said this is the first time a President is visiting his community.
This, he said has encouraged the President to continue with his tour to meet the people he governs.
“President Mahama will continue to engage the good people of Ghana because the people of Ghana deserve to see their President and they deserve to meet their President and one on one, let him hear exactly what they feel and what they want without compromising the quality of that information,” he said.
