The Ghanaian community in Toronto, Canada has extended support to a pregnant Ghanaian woman who was stranded after being evicted from the home of some Ghanaian church members she was staying with.
In a post shared on the social media app X by a user named Edhub on Friday, September 9, 2024, he stated, "Ghanaians in Canada have shown overwhelming support for the homeless pregnant woman by providing several accommodations for her, including a two-bedroom apartment that will accommodate her after the birth, allowing her to remain in Canada instead of returning to Ghana."
The young woman, who went to Canada to further her education, was in a dire situation and even contemplated taking her life since she had no support or shelter with her delivery date nearing.
