The Italian city Pordenone will be the host city as Ghanaians in Italy celebrates their country’s 55th year of Independence which fell on March 6. The event, on Saturday March 10, at Campo Sportivo di Villanova (Via Pirandello 23, Pordenone) in the northern Italian city will attract a host of special guests and is jointly being hosted by the Ghana Association in Pordenone in collaboration with the Council of Ghanaian Nationals Associations in Italy (COGNAI).
Her Excellency Anita Evelyn Stokes-Hayford (Ghana Ambassador to Italy) will lead a delegation of ten from the Ghana Embassy in Rome to the event, according to the President of the Ghana Association in Pordenone, Nana Agyeman , who said a comprehensive programme has been drawn to make the occasion a memorable day. The Ambassador, President of COGNAI - Omari Somuah - and representatives of the city Pordenone will address participants on a day expected to be full of thrills bringing the image of Ghana infront of the many guests . On the programme list of the event are: indoor games, open forum and a special quiz for Ghanaian youths with questions on Ghana and its Independence, General Knowledge, English and Mathematics – prizes will be awarded to the first 3 of 12 contestants. The occasion will also showcase Ghana’s culture with traditional drumming, dancing and costume.
