Football loving Ghanaians in the United States of America are planning a special programme to rally behind the Black Stars as they camp and travel to Brazil for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars have been handed a friendly match against South Korea to be played on the 9 or 10 June at the FIJ Stadium in Miami and this has offered the organisers an opportunity to launch an operation for Ghanaians in America to support the Black Stars in Brazil.
According to Bonsu, a Ghanaian sports journalist in the USA, they are trying to create a platform to mobilize support for Ghana in Brazil.
Speaking to yours truly, her said Ghanaians in America are zealous to watch the World Cup live and they add up to the high numbers registered by the USA as one of the top countries that have bought the World Cup tickets.
Bonsu hinted that the match between Ghana and the USA is a game every body wants to watch to see if Ghana can dominate or the USA will pull a victory over the African nation that is focused on reaching the Semi Finals.
He said Ghanaians love football and the Black Stars is very dear to the hearts of many football fans, so they are coming to the World Cup with the hope and ambition of beating all opponents at the group stage, go the the Second Round and win for the Quarter Finals and then improve to the last four.
According to him, the fare is quite expensive, but for the love of mother Ghana and the Black Stars, they are going to gather thousands of fans to be in Brazil to cheer the Black Stars.
He was grateful to the companies that have contributed to ensure that there are a few Ghanaians in the stands to support the national team.
“We cannot play soccer without the fans, we need the fans to cheer and boo and sing and dance. We need a colourful World Cup and Ghana fron Africa will make it happen” he said.
The Black Stars play USA in their first game on June 16 in Natal,before facing Germany on June 21 in Fortaleza and then meet Germany on June 26 in Brasilia.
