The Chairman of Group Nduom Company Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has bemoaned the attitude of Ghanaians running-down successful businessmen in the country.
According to him, giving thriving businessmen negative tags to a large extent demoralizes them and sometimes will kill the spirit of such entrepreneurs to expand their investments.
The astute businessman with about thirty 30 different business entities across the country in sectors including the hotel, media, banking and music among others was speaking to members of the Youth Wing of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) at the University of Energy and Natural Resources in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Dr. Nduom, also the founder and the 2016 Presidential Candidate for the PPP, wondered why Ghanaians will not rather support their own but love to see successful persons fail in their endeavours.
“I don’t know what is in us, the other day someone came to me and said, Dr. Ndoum…you don’t take advice. If you have one company go and sit somewhere, do your thing quietly and enjoy your money… enjoy your money where? Look money can’t hide, if you have some money and you can’t live in your own country, buy a nice car maybe build a beautiful house then what is the use of money?
He added: “But you know we punish those who are successful, and sometimes we say as for this one it’s cocaine, we say all sorts of things but what we should rather do is to find out how did someone get whatever he has,” Dr. Nduom noted.
