Ghanaians told to unite for the nation's progress

Kumasi, Dec. 24, GNA - The National House of Chiefs has extended its felicitations to Ghanaians and urged them to use the Yuletide to show love to each other.

The House said Ghanaians should also unite and pray for the nation's prosperity and progress in the coming year. These were contained in a Christmas Message signed by Wulugu Naba Pugansoa Professor John S. Nabilla, President of the House, in Kumasi on Thursday.

It noted that the year 2009 was eventful, citing the successful inauguration and swearing-in of President John Evans Atta Mills and Vice President John Mahama, the successful organization of the Hajj and Farmers Day celebration.

The statement congratulated the Black Satellites for winning the FIFA Under-20 World Cup and expressed confidence that the Senior National Team, the Black Stars would lift the African Nations Cup in Angola, early next year.

The House extended its appreciation to Chiefs in the country for their support and expressed the hope that the year 2010 would see significant reduction in chieftaincy disputes.
