Ghanaians urged to forge post-election unity

Kumasi, Dec. 21, GNA - Mr Kwadwo Petoah, Chairman of the Kumasi branch of the Akomadan Citizens Association, has called on Ghanaians to leave behind their political differences and forge ahead in unity, love and work towards the development of the country.

He said Akomadan needed many social amenities and it was only through unity and co-operation that developments could be accomplished. Mr Petoah was speaking at a meeting of the association held in Kumasi on Sunday.

He called on citizens living abroad to visit home regularly and contribute to the town's development. Mr Petoah also appealed to the Offinso District Assembly, the Omanhene of the area and the Member of Parliament-elect to collaborate for more development projects for the area, and also solve the transportation problems facing the people.

He congratulated Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, the incumbent MP, for retaining the parliamentary seat. He also commended Mr Kwadwo Appiah-Kubi, the NDC candidate for conceding defeat in good faith after losing the election.
