Ghanaians urged to learn to sacrifice for national progress

Wa, June 30, GNA - Mr. Cezar Kale, Deputy Upper West Regional Minister, has urged Ghanaians to be sacrificial and selfless in the pursuit of their individual needs in the interest of national development. Mr. Kale, who said this during the regional launch of Christ Embassy's 'Reach Out Ghana 2010' (ROGHA 2010) programme, on Tuesday, at Wa, called on churches to rekindle the spirit of communal labour for societal progress. The programme, which sought to distribute over a million free copies of the "Rhapsody of Realities," a book authored by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and his wife, Anita, was on the theme: "Promoting Peace, Progress, Prosperity and Patriotism."

Mr. Kale commended the Pastor for the wisdom given to him by God to write the book and said it was his hope that the widespread reading of the book would further raise the spiritual level of the people and bring them closer to their creator. The Deputy Regional Minister called on parents not to shirk their responsibilities with regards to training their children to become both morally and spiritually upright.

Mr. Kale was, however, worried about the recent negative media reports about churches, ranging from jostling for positions, rape, assault, defilement, shit bombing, litigation, fraud and breakaways to occultism. He said all these vices suggested that all was not well with the church and called on the Christian leadership to take action to redeem the good name of the religion.

He pointed out that government would lend its support to any religious affiliation that seeks to truly give life a meaning for all citizens. He said it was for this reason that President John Evans Atta Mills instituted a national prayer day to enable all Ghanaians to come together to give thanks to God for the great things he did for this country. Pastor Moses Liberty, Head Pastor of the Agona Swedru branch of the Christ Embassy Church, said their vision was to take the word of God to all parts of the world to save many souls that were under the bondage of the devil.

He described the book as one that contained the divine gift of God and had the power to transform many lives that were dwelling in the spirit of darkness. He said the spirit behind the book was so great that it transform any body who reads it.

The Pastor noted that the actual distribution of the book would start on July 1, and would cover all the nine districts in the region. He advised all who would have the privilege of getting the book to make it a point to read it always because they would have many testimonies to tell.
