The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said that the show of support by the electorate during its manifesto launch recently is proof of the clamour by many Ghanaians for salvation from despair.
“The massive show of support across the country was a testament of the belief and confidence Ghanaians have in the party’s ability to rescue the country from the current state of hopelessness it has been plunged into as a result of eight years of incompetence and corruption by the NDC government, led by President John Dramani Mahama,” acting General Secretary John Boadu has said.
In a press release thanking the rank and file of the party for a successful manifesto launch, Mr Boadu explained that the NPP had the most credible programme for the development of Ghana, as evidenced in the superior ideas and proposals proffered in the 2016 manifesto to tackle current challenges confronting the development of the country.
He stressed that Ghanaians had seen the NPP in government before and so could trust it to deliver, taking inspiration from the statement by the party’s presidential aspirant that: “We of the NPP have always taken our manifestos seriously because we believe politics is a serious business and asking for the mandate of the people to govern is serious business.”
He urged NPP party activists “to vigorously carry the HOPE message to the many Ghanaians who have lost all hope of a better future, while firmly resisting any temptation to engage in a campaign of frivolities and trivialities that is preferred by our opponents who have inferior ideas and always seek to relegate the bread and butter issues to the background”.
