Ghanaweb's Server Updated

In a bid to improve services and delivery on the GhanaHomePage, the primary server of Ghanaweb was replaced with a faster model on Monday January 20. The new server, an AMD Athlon XP1600 processor with 512MB DDR2100 RAM and a 60GB drive, has enabled GhanaHomePage double the speed of its processor and memory.

The total downtime during the switch was less than 10 minutes.

Present at the launching were the joint-partners Robert Bellart and Francis Akoto.

"Ghanaweb now delivers a top of the line, high-performance server solution to the GhanaHomePage. " said Robert Bellart

?Backing up our commitment to system stability, our server now offers a balanced combination of performance, reliability, and rapid execution of applications/scripts, providing superior application performance.? said Francis Akoto.

Prior to the upgrade the GhanaHomePage established a reputation as Ghana's fastest loading and most reliable website. The new server is located in a US-based datacenter, which is connected to the Internet by six (6) backbone providers. Each backbone connection to the datacenter offers enough bandwidth capacity to service the facility independently in case of emergency.
