A seventeen-year-old junior high school girl has stabbed her uncle to death in Sefwi Ashiam, a suburb of the Western Region.

Elizabeth Opare, otherwise known as Awura Akua, a J.H.S 2 pupil was angry with her uncle, Nana Yaw for trying to prevent her from dating her boyfriend who resides in Wasa Dwabo.

According to Abusua FM’s eye witness report, the uncle severally tried stopping Awura Akua from continuing the illicit sexual relationship which proved futile until he one day decided to cane.

The report adds, immediately the uncle tried canning the seventeen-year-old niece, she held the uncle’s hand and several efforts to release himself from the niece’s grip failed and she subsequently overpowered him.

At that point, aloud shout for help from the room uncle’s attracted other neighbours who only went to meet Nana Yaw in a pool of blood while the internal organs gushed out which the neighbours suspect the niece of stabbing the uncle in the course of the struggle.

The seventeen-year-old niece is alleged to have stabbed Nana Yaw because he has been an impediment to her love life.

Awura Akua is currently in the custody of the Sefwi Bekwai District police command for investigations while the body of the uncle has been deposited at the Bekwai hospital morgue.
