Award-winning actor Kofi Adjorlolo has made an audacious call to organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) to give the Artiste of the Year gong to Ebony.

“For Artiste of the Year, they have to decide and give it to her posthumously.”

The veteran actor made this suggestion on Friday at the family house of the late songstress.

He was there to mourn with the family.

Ebony Reigns, born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, died on Thursday night in a fatal crash on the Sunyani-Accra highway.

She was returning from a visit to her UK-based mum.

Before her death, Ebony had been tipped to be the first female to win the Artiste of the Year at this year’s VGMAs.

She released successive hit songs including Sponsor, Di Me Dwa and Maame Hwe, which is the favourite of former President John Dramani Mahama’s.

She was nominated for the Unsung Artiste of the Year at the 2016 VGMAs. She, however, had many awards including 2017 Bass Artiste of the Year Award to her credit.

Many celebrities have paid tribute to her on social media with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo also joining mourners.
