Former President Jerry John Rawlings has told NDC Members of Parliament that “God Knows” he has done his duty to the people of Ghana. In a meeting with the NDC Parliamentary caucus in Accra, Mr Rawlings harped on the need for internal party cohesion and to focus on the broader issue of social justice for every Ghanaian.
He said, “the people are not only hungry for food. The country is starving for justice. Kufuor’s regime is starving the country of fundamental political, economic and social truths”.
Mr Rawlings urged the Members of Parliament to fight against blatant social injustices all over the country, in addition to focusing on worsening economic plight of the people. “A refusal to insist on genuine justice will provide the current regime with an escape route and this nation will regret it someday”.
On the serial killings of women, he said, “I have pointed where the truth involving the murders can be found and the means by which they can get the truth. God knows I have done my duty. My conscience is clear”.
