Vice President and the 2024 Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has affirmed his faith in God for a brighter future following his defeat in the December 7 presidential elections.

Speaking during the 31st Watch Night service at the Lighthouse Chapel International, he expressed his gratitude to God for the peaceful conduct of the elections.

He further encouraged Ghanaians to embrace hope and gratitude as they step into the new year.

"We have gone through an election, and I want to thank God for His blessings to myself and to the country of Ghana. The book of Thessalonians 5:18 tells us that in all things, give thanks to God, and for me, I have an abiding faith in the Lord. So, for what He has done for us, we are giving thanks to Him. I know that God has greater and better things in store for the future, and I want to thank all of us for giving us the opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year," he noted.

Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the Founder of the Lighthouse Chapel International, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, for his support, describing him as an amazing man of God.

"I want to thank Bishop Dag, who is an amazing man. He is someone who never ceases to amaze me. He is truly blessed, and we thank God for his life," he added.
