God is punishing NPP – Boateng Gyan

Yaw Boateng Gyan Yaw Boateng Gyan

Former National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Yaw Boateng Gyan says the New Patriotic Party has been exposed for its double standards, following the arrest of the three South African ex police officers who are in Ghana to train NPP youth in various military drills.

According to him, God is punishing the NPP for the needless scathing attack at him in the run-up to the 2012 elections, when he was caught on tape promising party foot soldiers that he will get them enlisted into the country’s security agencies should they work to retain the party in power.

A leaked tape implicated Yaw Boateng Gyan, who was heard promising to ensure party foot soldiers are specifically recruited into the Special Forces and the National Security according to the tape.

“The other time we were talking about this Special Forces, we haven’t abandoned it. If you are there it does not mean you cannot still work for us” Yaw Boateng Gyan said.

“We will send you there, you will be trained and come back and will be working. When the need arises, we will call you, whatever duties will be assigned then you’d come back and be working for the party”.

He added that “those who are following the President now, they were at the party headquarters, they were soldiers but they were at the party headquarters.

You ask Kofi Yeboah, he was serving as a guard at the party headquarters so you could be there and later come and serve.”

Mr. Boateng-Gyan admitted the voice on the leaked tape was his, but said the NDC had no intentions of causing mayhem in this year’s election.

The Bureau of National Investigations on Sunday arrested the three South Africans, Major Ahmed Shaik Hazis, 54, (Rtd), WO/ Denver Dwayhe Naidu, 39, (Rtd) and 45-year-old Captain Mlungiseleli Jokani (Rtd) were arrested at the El-Capitano Hotel, at Agona Duakwa in the Central Region, while training fifteen youth of the NPP in various military drills, including unarmed combat, weapon handling, VIP protection techniques and rapid response maneuvers.

Speaking on Okay FM Thursday, Mr Boateng Gyan stated that the involvement of the NPP in such a dangerous move which could threaten national security is most reprehensible and must be condemned by all right thinking Ghanaians.

He said persons such as Hon. Ken Agyapong who vilified him in 2012 for his action must heard on this matter involving his own NPP.

“Where is Ken Agyepong? He has suddenly turned a dumb person and has not uttered a word about this matter. God is not asleep; he is punishing the NPP for what they did to me.

If Nana Akufo Addo had won the 2012 election, I know I would have been in prison by now because of the kind of things Ken Agyepong said about me.

That was really a difficult time for me, I was so troubled over that case, but the Almighty who is all knowing has exposed the NPP for who they really are.”
