President elect, John Dramani Mahama has expressed his gratefulness to God for proving himself mighty in his life.

To him, God has proven himself mightily in his life and he cannot disprove that fact.

John Dramani Mahama was addressing Ghanaians for the first time after he was declared winner of the 2024 elections.

He said while thanking his family that “I thank God for preparing a table before me in the presence of my enemies. We are all acquainted with this Bible verse and also anointing my head with oil and make my cup runneth over. I give thanks to my wife Lordina Mahama; and my family my children my siblings and all my extended family for standing by me through all these difficult times when victory and success became out of sight” H.E John Mahama said.

John Dramani Mahama used the opportunity to eulogise his Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang for being the light among women and giving them the hope that they can be what they want to be.

“I’d like to thank the vice president elect Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang for being an exemplary figure. Naana your decency, your humility and your sense of responsibility is overwhelming. As you said you have not only open the door but you keep the door open for any other women. Your name has become synonymous with breaking boundaries and like I said you’re flipping the door of opportunity for other females. Because of you, the people of Ghana celebrate the fact that we’ve made history by electing our first woman as vice president”, John Mahama added.

John Dramani Mahama will meet President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on December 11, 2024 to discuss transition at the Jubilee House.
