A Deputy General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen, has lashed out at the Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., for accepting government’s appointment.
He evoked curses on Kwesi Pratt for being a hypocrite, saying he has been on the neck of the NPP for poor performance and lavishing state resources on their family and friends at the expense of the taxpayer.
According to him, the Lord has exposed Kwesi Pratt for hiding behind journalism to blast NPP for no apparent reason.
‘God is a King for letting Ghanaians know the true party he belongs, Kwesi Pratt has been an NDC member, but he refuses to come clean on his political party affiliation, God will punish him, ’ he said.
He claimed Kwesi Pratt has been criticised on several occasions for not been objective in his radio and TV discourse.
‘The Lord touched President Mahama’s heart to appoint Kwesi Pratt for everybody to know which party he votes for,’ he indicated.
He observed that the Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide, Kweku Baako and Kwesi Pratt, may have soft spots for NPP and NDC respectively, saying the former admits it but the latter does not.
‘Kweku Baako will not rubbish information that he has a soft spot for NPP. When you are tagged to a particular party, don’t rubbish it as if you don’t have anything to do with them. Kwesi Pratt wants the whole world to know that he is not an NDC member,’ he pointed out.
Speaking on Nhyira FM, he alleged that Kwesi Pratt, who has been nominated to represent the presidency on the National Media Commission (NMC) board, could be on government payroll.
‘Perhaps it comes to reason that he is on the payroll of the office of the presidency though he is a Ghanaian, sycophancy will not help him anywhere,’ he fumed.
‘Let’s be honest and sincere, am being serious, this is job for the boys. Kwesi Pratt has not been fair to Nana Addo, former President Kufuor and NPP as a whole, he only talks about negative happenings in our party, he does not discuss the good things about us,’ he asserted.
Nana Boahen said Kwesi Pratt is liberal when he is discussing the President’s brother, Ibrahim Mahama.
Kwesi Pratt has been nominated by the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration to represent the presidency on the reconstituted National Media Commission (NMC) Board.
